CAUTION: Clean the transmission exterior thoroughly with a steam cleaner or cleaning solvents before removal.
REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove transmission heat shield.
3. Drain the ATF into a suitable container.
4. Remove the oil pan and gasket. Discard the gasket.
5. Remove the oil strainer and O-rings. Discard the O-rings.
6. Carefully lift up on the wire loom guide and protector. Disengage the retaining pins from the solenoid brackets.
7. Disconnect the six solenoid connectors from the solenoids by carefully pulling upward and moving side to side.
