DISASSEMBLY 

1. Place the axle shaft assembly in a vise, being careful not to damage it.
2. Disassemble in the order shown in the illustration, referring to the following note:

Bearing Cups (2)

Press out the bearing cups using U-Joint Tool T74P 4635-C, or equivalent. If the bearing cannot be pressed all the way out of the flange,
remove it with a vise grip or channel lock pliers.

ASSEMBLY 

Assemble in the reverse order of disassembly, referring to Assembly Note:

Bearing Cups (2) 

1. Press in the bearing cups using U-Joint Tool T74P 4635-C, or equivalent to 6.35 mm (0.20 inch) with the surface of the yokes.
2. Repeat step 1 to install the four bearing cups.

NOTE:

Check the shaft for freedom of movement. If binding is present, tap the ears of the shaft.

Do not install the shaft if any binding is observed.
