Repair Procedure
Note
The steps in the procedure below must be followed in their order for accurate diagnosis and repair.
1.
Verify customer complaint.
A.
Verify all four (4) tires have equal and correct pressures according to tire specifications.
B.
Park vehicle on level surface.
C.
Measure vehicle height from the top of the wheel cap to the wheel lip at all four wheel openings as shown. Record these measurements on
the repair order for reference.

If the difference of the two sides is between 0

6.35 mm (0 - 0.25 in), this is normal. Return vehicle to customer.

If the difference of the two sides is 6.35 mm (0.25 in) or greater, proceed to STEP 2.
2.
Determine if lean is caused by suspension or body alignment. Inspect body and bed for misalignment and shim as needed. See Workshop Manual
(section 09-10) for body alignment procedures. After confirming that lean is not related to body alignment, proceed to STEP 3.
3.
Detach one front stabilizer bar link and measure vehicle height as described in STEP 1-C.

If lean is corrected, replace front stabilizer bar.

If lean is reduced but still present, replace front stabilizer bar and proceed to STEP 4.

If lean is not reduced and still present, proceed to STEP 4.
4.
Swap the left rear leaf spring with the right rear leaf spring. Refer to Workshop Manual (section 02-14). Verify repair by performing a visual
inspection along with measurement specifications from STEP 1-C. If lean is still present, leave swapped leaf springs in place and proceed to STEP
5.
