Cylinder Head Gasket: Service and Repair

ngine coolant replacementREMOVAL AND INSTALLATION 

1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Drain the engine cooling system; refer to Engine Coolant Replacement.

3. Disconnect the exhaust pipe from the exhaust manifolds.
4. Recover the A/C system; refer to Refrigerant System.

5. Remove the generator mounting bracket.
6. Remove the A/C compressor; refer to Refrigerant System.

7. Remove the A/C bracket-to-front cover brace.

8. Remove the bolt and the A/C compressor mounting bracket; refer to REFRIGERANT SYSTEM.
9. Remove the lower intake manifold; refer to Lower Intake Manifold Removal/Installation.

10. Remove the rocker arm and shaft assembly.
