Fluid - Transfer Case: Service and Repair
TRANSFER CASE FLUID LEVEL CHECKING
Caution: If the proper fill procedures are not followed, transfer case failure can result.
Note: Fluid level should be just below the fill plug.
1. Remove the filler plug.
2. Verify oil level is near filler plug port. If it is low, add specified oil.
Specified Oil: ATF TYPE M-III or equivalent (e.g. MERCON (R)
3. Install filler plug.
Tightening torque: 19-30 Nm (1.9-3.1 kgf-m, 14-22 ft. lbs.)
