Pinpoint Test 1 (2 Of 2)
Normal Operation
NOTE:

During normal operation, the air bag indicator will be lit continuously for 6 seconds after the ignition switch is placed in the ON position and after
five cycles of a lamp fault code (LFC) if a fault exists. Be sure to cycle the ignition switch and look for a 6 second indicator prove-out without
LFCs.

The air bag diagnostic monitor will communicate diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) through the NGS Tester using the Data Link Connector (DLC).
If the NGS Tester displays NO COMMUNICATION when retrieving Continuous DTCs, use this pinpoint test to troubleshoot the system.
Possible Causes
An air bag indicator that is illuminated continuously could be caused by one of the following:

circuitry
-
the ignition circuit damaged
-
the air bag diagnostic monitor disconnected from the vehicle harness
-
a loss of air bag diagnostic monitor ground circuits
-
the air bag diagnostic monitor inoperative the shorting bar or camming beam in connector
