CAUTION:

A Syncro Positioning Tool must be used during the installation of the replacement synchronizer assembly. Failure to follow this
procedure will result In the fuel system being out of time with the engine, possibly causing engine damage.

It is very important to coat the gear on the camshaft synchronizer with SAE-5W30 engine oil prior to Installation. Failure to do so
could result in gear failure upon engine start-up.

2. Install SST 49 UN01 148 on the camshaft synchronizer by rotating the tool until it engages the notch in the camshaft synchronizer housing and the

armature.

NOTE:  During installation, the arrow on the Syncro Positioning Tool will rotate clockwise until oil pump intermediate shaft and camshaft gear
engages.

3. Install the camshaft synchronizer housing assembly.

The arrow on the Syncro Positioning Tool SST 49 UN01148 should be 

54 degrees from the centering of the engine.

4. Install the bolt.

Tightening torque:  
20.5 - 30 Nm { 2.1 - 3.1 kg.m, 15 - 22 ft.lb }
