Rear Differential Pinion Seal
REAR PINION SEAL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
Removal Note
1. Remove the rear companion flange.
2. Pry up on the metal flange of the rear pinion seal. Install gripping pliers and strike with a hammer until the seal is removed.
Installation Note
1. Lubricate the new rear pinion seal.
Caution: If the rear pinion seal becomes misaligned during installation, remove the seal and install a new seal.
2. Use Pinion Seal Replacer Special Service Tool (SST) 49 M005 796 to install the rear pinion seal.
3. Install the rear companion flange
