Brake Pads, Replace
1.
Raise and support vehicle, then remove front wheel.
2.
Remove lock pin bolt, then the caliper assembly, Fig. 7.
3.
Remove brake pads and shims from mounting support.
4.
Reverse procedure to install.
Caliper, Replace
1.
Raise and support vehicle, then remove front wheel.
2.
Remove brake hose clip and attaching bolt, then disconnect and cap brake hose from caliper.
3.
Remove lock pin bolt, then the caliper assembly, Fig. 7.
4.
Reverse procedure to install.
Caliper, Overhaul
1.
Clean outside of the caliper.
2.
Remove dust seal from the caliper.
3.
Place a piece of wood in front of piston to prevent damage to piston. Apply air pressure to the fluid port in the caliper to remove the piston. If
piston is seized and cannot be forced from the caliper, tap lightly around the piston while applying air pressure.
4.
Remove piston seal from caliper bore.
5.
Apply brake fluid to piston seal and install it into groove of caliper bore. Ensure seal does not become twisted and that it is seated fully in the
groove.
6.
Lubricate piston and caliper bore.
7.
Insert piston into caliper bore.
8.
Install dust seal into groove of caliper bore.
