B Series Truck L4-2184cc 2.2L 2200 (1988)
Water Pump: Service and Repair
1.
Turn crankshaft so that No. 1 cylinder is at TDC of compression.
2.
Disconnect battery ground cable and drain engine coolant.
3.
Remove radiator cowl, cooling fan and pulley.
4.
Remove alternator drive belt and, on B2200, the cooling fan bracket.
5.
Remove upper and lower timing belt covers, timing belt tensioner and spring and the timing belt. Refer to ``Timing Belt, Replace.''
6.
Remove coolant inlet pipe and gasket.
7.
Remove water pump together with gasket and O-ring.
8.
Reverse procedure to install. Apply a coat of petroleum jelly to coolant bypass pipe O-ring before installation.
