Idle Speed: Adjustments

Before adjusting idle speed or mixture, be sure ignition timing, spark plugs, and carburetor float level are in normal operating condition. Turn off
all lights and other unnecessary electrical loads. Make adjustments with cooling fan motor not operating.

Connect a tachometer.

After warming up engine, verify that choke valve has fully opened.

3.

Check idle speed in neutral (manual trans) or park (auto trans). If necessary, turn throttle adjust screw (TAS) and set idle speed to specifications.

800 - 850 rpm

NOTE: After adjusting idle speed, dashpot should be adjusted.
