Valve Clearance: Adjustments

    These engines are equipped with hydraulic valve lifters which eliminate the need for valve clearance adjustments. However, the 2600cc engine uses jet
valves which should be adjusted as follows:

1.

Start engine and allow to reach normal operating temperature, then shut engine off.

2.

Adjust jet valve clearance to .010 inch at top dead center of compression stroke for each cylinder.

3.

Tighten locknuts, then recheck valve clearances.
