Idle/Bypass Air Control Valve: Adjustments
Manual Transmission
1.
Observe the following conditions.
a. Transmission in neutral.
b. A/C turned "OFF".
c. Engine at normal operating temperature.
d. Engine idling at normal idle speed (800 - 850 rpm).
Idle-Up System

Disconnect manifold vacuum hose from idle-up solenoid at point "A" (see illustration) and connect directly to port on top of idle-up servo
diaphragm. Diaphragm should retract and idle speed should increase to the specified rpm.
1,300 - 1,500 rpm
Adjusting Idle-Up Speed
If servo diaphragm does not retract, replace. If servo retracts but idle speed does not increase to within specified range, adjust speed by turning
adjustment screw as shown in illustration.
