Idle/Bypass Air Control Valve: Adjustments
Automatic Transmission
VEHICLES WITH A/C
1.
Observe the following conditions.
a. Transmission in park.
b. Engine at normal operating temperature.
c. Engine idling at normal idle speed (800 - 850 rpm).
d. A/C turned "OFF".
Idle-Up System

Disconnect manifold vacuum hose from either idle-up solenoid and connect directly to port "a" on side of idle-up servo diaphragm. Diaphragm
should retract and idle speed should increase to the specified rpm.
1,300 - 1,500 rpm
Adjusting Idle-Up Speed
If servo does not retract, replace it. If servo retracts but idle speed does not increase to within specified range, adjust speed by turning adjustment
screw as shown in illustration.

Re-connect vacuum hose to port "A" according to vacuum diagram and connect manifold vacuum hose to port "B" on top of servo. Servo should
retract slightly and idle speed should increase to the specified rpm.
920 - 970 rpm
