Reverse procedure to install. When installing caliper, lubricate caliper and mounting at positions shown in Fig. 2.

Caliper Overhaul

1.

Clean outside of the caliper.

2.

Remove retainer and dust boot from the caliper.

3.

Place a piece of wood in front of piston to prevent damage to piston. Apply air pressure to the fluid port in the caliper to remove the piston. If
piston is seized and cannot be forced from the caliper, tap lightly around the piston while applying air pressure.

Remove piston seal from caliper bore.

5.

Apply brake fluid to piston seal and install it into groove of caliper bore. Ensure seal does not become twisted and that it is seated fully in the
groove.

6.

Lubricate piston and caliper bore.

7.

Insert piston into caliper bore.

8.

Install dust boot by setting flange squarely in inner groove of caliper bore. Install dust boot retainer.
