Front Crankshaft Seal: Service and Repair
Front Oil Seal
Removal
1
Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Drain the engine oil.
3. Remove the timing belt. (Refer Timing Belt).
4. Remove the timing belt pulley with the SST.
5. Remove the oil seal with a screwdriver and a rag.
Installation
Install in the reverse order of removal referring to the Installation note.
Installation note:
Front oil seal
1. Apply engine oil to the new seal lip.
2. Fit the oil seal onto the oil pump body.
3. Tap the oil seal in evenly using a suitable pipe.
Oil seal outer diameter: 48 mm (1.89 in)
