(A). Remove in the sequence listed below for in vehicle repair. For bench repair, follow sequence shown in figure.
(B). Inspect all parts and repair or replace as necessary.
1. Cylinder head cover and gasket
4. Rocker arm and shaft assembly
5. Hydraulic lash adjuster (HLA)
12. Valve keepers
Caution: Pressurize coresponding cylinder before removing valve keepers for in vehicle repairs.
13 Upper spring seat
14. Valve spring
17. Valve seal, inspect for wear or damage
2.6 Liter
1. Clean all parts, being sure to remove any gasket fragments, dirt, oil or grease, carbon, moisture residue, or other foreign materials.
2. Inspection and repairs must be performed in the order specified.
Caution: Do not damage the joints or friction surfaces of aluminum alloy components (such as the cylinder head or pistons).
