The Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) is located on the instrument panel. On Federal and Canadian specification vehicles, the MIL lights and stays
"ON" at 60,000 and 80,000 miles (90,000 and 130,000 km in Canada) to indicate engine control system maintenance is required. On these vehicles, the
MIL does not light when computer system faults are detected and it cannot be used to flash trouble codes.
