Idle Switch Inspection
1. Warm up engine and run at idle.
2. Connect a tachometer.
3. Connect a voltmeter to idle switch terminal "(LG/R)."
4. Increase engine speed to more than 2,000 rpm; decelerate gradually and verify that voltmeter indicates approximately 12V at idle and less than 1.5V
above 1000-1200 rpm.
Adjusting Idle Speed
5. If not as specified, turn adjust screw to adjust.

Replace idle switch if no other problems are detected and correct adjustment cannot be obtained.
Idle switch input signal can be checked at ECU terminal 1O. At idle, terminal voltage should be approximately 12V. Above 1000-1200 rpm with no
load, voltage should be less than 1.5V.
