Clutch Master Cylinder: Service and Repair
Removal and Replacement
1.
Disconnect hydraulic line from master cylinder, then cap line.
2.
Working from inside passenger compartment, remove two master cylinder retaining nuts.
3.
Remove master cylinder from vehicle. Clutch fluid will damage painted surfaces. Use a container or rag to contain fluid.
4.
Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Torque hydraulic line to 9.5-16 ft. lbs.
b. Torque master cylinder retaining bolts to 12-17 ft. lbs.
c. Bleed hydraulic clutch system.
