Oxygen Sensor: Testing and Inspection

1.

Run engine until normal operating temperature is reached and continue to run at idle.

2.

Disconnect electrical connector from oxygen sensor.

3.

Attach voltmeter between oxygen sensor side of electrical connector and ground.

4.

Increase engine speed to 1300 RPM and observe voltmeter.

5.

If voltmeter does not indicate .1---.8 volt, replace the oxygen sensor.
