DESCRIPTION
The rear axle seal(s) on some B-Series vehicles may leak. This may be caused by uneven wear of the seal.
A redesigned seal (UB40 26 154), with improved wear resistance, has been included in production vehicles since March 1, 1990 (see VIN Range below).

REPAIR PROCEDURE
Check axle bearing end play. See Section "9" or "M" of the Workshop Manual for checking and adjustment procedures.
NOTE:

Clean oil from all affected parts.

Replace oil soaked brake shoes.

Refill differential oil level after repair.
