DESCRIPTION
Some vehicles may experience brake pedal pulsation/vibration when braking. This is caused by rust spots on the disc plate(s)/brake rotor(s). This
condition occurs on vehicles operated in areas where large amounts of de-icing road salt are used in the winter.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
If the above condition occurs, machine affected disc plate(s)/brake rotor(s) and replace brake pad(s). A new disc plate/brake rotor has a thickness of 20
mm (0.79 in.). Minimum allowed disc plate/brake rotor thickness is 18 mm (0.71 in.).
CAUTION:
BE AWARE OF THE MINIMUM ALLOWABLE THICKNESS (STAMPED ON THE SURFACE) WHEN MACHINING THE DISC
PLATE/BRAKE ROTOR. If thickness is below minimum allowed, replacement is necessary. Follow instructions in section P of the workshop
manual for brake removal and installation.
