Fuel Pressure Control Solenoid: Testing and Inspection
VACUUM CHECK
Pressure Regulator System Testing
1.
Start engine and run at idle.
2.
Disconnect vacuum hose (orange) from pressure regulator and verify that vacuum is present.
3.
Ground solenoid valve terminal wire (L/B) with jumper wire and verify that no vacuum is present.
4.
If vacuum is present, check solenoid valve.
SOLENOID VALVE TESTING
Pressure Regulator Solenoid Testing
1.
Disconnect vacuum hose from solenoid valve and vacuum pipe.
2.
Blow through valve from port "A" and check that air flows from port "B."
3.
Disconnect valve electrical connector.
4.
Connect 12V power source and ground to solenoid terminals.
5.
Blow through valve from port "A" and check that air flows from valve air filter.
6.
Replace valve if it does not perform as specified.
Pressure regulator solenoid output voltage can be checked at ECU terminal 2T. "Hot" is defined as coolant temperature above 194° F (90° C) and intake
air temperature above 149° F (65° C). When this condition exists, the ECU will energize the PRC solenoid for 120 seconds after the ignition is switched
