2007-2009 CX-7 with VINs lower than JM3 ER****** 300001 (produced before April 1, 2009)
2007-2009 CX-9 with VINS lower than JM3 TB****** 175507 (produced before April 1, 2009)
2006-2010 MX-5 with VINS lower than JM1 NC****** 204115 (produced before April 1, 2009)
DESCRIPTION
Some customers may complain that the LED light on the retractable type keyless transmitter does not illuminate and the transmitter does not work at all.
This is caused by poor contact between the transmitter and the battery. The production procedure has now been improved to correct this problem.
Customers having this concern should have their vehicle repaired using the following repair procedure.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
1. Verify customer concern.
2. Press the "UNLOCK" button on the transmitter and check if the LED (A) on the transmitter illuminates or not.
^ If it does illuminate, this repair information does not apply. Refer to MS3 online instructions or Workshop Manual section 09-14 SYMPTOM
TROUBLESHOOTING CHART [KEYLESS ENTRY SYSTEM].
^ If it does not illuminate, go to the next step.
3. Remove the battery from the transmitter. Refer to MS3 online instructions or Workshop Manual section 09-14 TRANSMITTER BATTERY
