Before installation, wipe both sides of the battery with a clean, dry cloth to clean the terminals.

6. Press the buttons on the transmitter and check if the LED on the transmitter illuminates.

^ If it does not illuminate, replace the battery with a new one.

^ If it still does not illuminate with a new battery, replace the transmitter with a new one, and follow the transmitter registration procedure. Refer to MS3

online instructions or Workshop Manual section 09-14 IMMOBILIZER SYSTEM COMPONENT REPLACEMENT/KEY ADDITION AND
CLEARING.

7. Verify repair.

^ This warranty information applies only to verified customer complaints on vehicles eligible for warranty repair.

^ This repair will be covered under Mazda's New Vehicle Limited Warranty term.

Battery replacement is covered for 12 months/12,000 miles.

Transmitter replacement is covered under Basic Warranty.

^ Additional diagnostic time cannot be claimed for this repair.

NOTE:

Use established SRTs for battery and transmitter replacement.
