Blind Spot Indicator: Testing and Inspection
BLIND SPOT MONITORING (BSM) INDICATOR LIGHT INSPECTION
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the inner garnish. See: Body and Frame/Doors, Hood and Trunk/Doors/Front Door/Front Door Panel/Service and Repair/Removal and
Replacement/Inner Garnish Removal/Installation
3. Remove the front door trim. See: Body and Frame/Doors, Hood and Trunk/Doors/Front Door/Front Door Panel/Service and Repair/Removal and
Replacement/Front Door Trim Removal/Installation
4. Apply battery voltage to power outer mirror terminal D, and terminal F to ground.

Verify that the BSM indicator light illuminates.
5. Remove the outer mirror glass. See: Body and Frame/Mirrors/Service and Repair/Outer Mirror Glass Removal See: Body and
Frame/Mirrors/Service and Repair/Outer Mirror Glass Installation
6. Apply battery voltage to BSM indicator light terminal A, and terminal B to ground.

Verify that the BSM indicator light illuminates. If there is any malfunction, replace the BSM indicator light. See: Service and Repair
7. Inspect for continuity between the following terminals:

Power outer mirror terminal D-BSM indicator light terminal A

Power outer mirror terminal F-BSM indicator light terminal B
-
If not as indicated in the table, replace the power outer mirror.
