Transmission Speed Sensor: Service and Repair
Input/Turbine Speed Sensor Removal/Installation - AW6A-EL, AW6AX-EL

INPUT/TURBINE SPEED SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [AW6A-EL, AW6AX-EL]

WARNING:

-

A hot transaxle and ATF can cause severe burns. Turn off the engine and wait until then are cool before replacing the ATF.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Remove the air cleaner component.  See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Intake Manifold/Service and Repair

3. Drain the ATF.  See: Transmission and Drivetrain/Automatic Transmission/Transaxle/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Automatic

Transaxle Fluid (ATF) Replacement

4. Remove the resonance chamber.  See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Intake Manifold/Service and Repair

5. Remove the control valve body.  See: Transmission and Drivetrain/Automatic Transmission/Transaxle/Valve Body/Service and Repair/Removal

and Replacement/Control Valve Body Removal/Installation - AW6A-EL, AW6AX-EL

CAUTION:

-

Do not damage the input/turbine speed sensor.

6. Remove the input/turbine speed sensor.

7. Install the input/turbine speed sensor. 

Tightening torque

-

3.9-6.9 Nm {40-70 kgf-cm, 26-60 in-lbf}

8. Install the control valve body.  See: Transmission and Drivetrain/Automatic Transmission/Transaxle/Valve Body/Service and Repair/Removal and

Replacement/Control Valve Body Removal/Installation - AW6A-EL, AW6AX-EL

9. Install the resonance chamber.  See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Intake Manifold/Service and Repair

10. Add ATF to the specified level.  See: Transmission and Drivetrain/Automatic Transmission/Transaxle/Service and Repair/Removal and

Replacement/Automatic Transaxle Fluid (ATF) Replacement

11. Install the air cleaner component.  See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Intake Manifold/Service and Repair

12. Connect the negative battery cable.

13. Perform the mechanical system test.  See: Transmission and Drivetrain/Automatic Transmission/Transaxle/Testing and Inspection/Initial
