2007-2008 CX-9 vehicles with VINs lower than JM3 TB**** ** 159179 (produced before May 1, 2008) WITHOUT Power Liftgate (PLG)
DESCRIPTION
Some customers may complain that the liftgate hand grip (liftgate recess assembly) is difficult to grip when closing and excessive force is required to
close the liftgate.
The shape of the hand grip located on the lower edge of the liftgate trim panel has been modified to allow easier closing on the liftgate.
Customers having this concern should have their vehicle repaired using the following repair procedure.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
1.
Verify customer concern.
2.
Replace the current hand grip with a modified one.
