POWER LIFTGATE MALFUNCTION DUE TO DISCONNECTED ARM
APPLICABLE MODEL(S)/VINS
2007-2010 CX-9 vehicles built before JM3TB****A*234850 (July 19, 2010)
DESCRIPTION
Some vehicles may experience a power liftgate (PLG) malfunction due to the PLG arm (A) being disconnected from the liftgate body. This may be
caused by the customer assisting opening/closing of the liftgate (B) while the PLG is in operation.
Customers having this concern should have their vehicle repaired using the following repair procedure.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
1. Verify customer concern.
2. Replace the liftgate body per MS3 online or Workshop Manual (section 09-11 LIFTGATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION). Replace PLG arm and/or
stud bolt if damaged.
3. Verify repair.
NOTE:
Advise customer NOT to manually assist opening/closing of the liftgate while the PLG is in operation.
