2003-2006 MAZDA6 vehicles produced before November 10, 2006
2006-2007 MAZDASPEED6 vehicles with VINs lower than JM1GG******108052 produced before July 1, 2006
DESCRIPTION
Some vehicles may experience a knocking or squeaking noise from the front end when passing over bumps.
The stopper and outer cylinder in the lower arm bushing may be contacting each other causing the noise.
The lower arm bushing has been modified as follows to eliminate the noise:

Silicone sealant has been applied to the contact location.

The shape of the lower arm bushing stopper has been changed.
Customers having this concern should have their vehicle repaired using the following repair procedure.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
1. Verify customer concern.
NOTE:
Using "Chassis Ear", "Sound 2000" or an equivalent noise detection tool is recommended for identifying which side the noise is coming from.
2. Replace lower front arm (rear) bushing with a new part according to Workshop Manual (section 02-13 FRONT LOWER ARM (REAR)
REMOVAL/INSTALLATION).
NOTE:
It is not necessary to replace the lower arm (rear), only the bushing.
3. Verify repair.
