12.

Remove the bolt on the steering column collar and slide the collar onto the lower shaft.

NOTE: 

Do not move the front wheels during this procedure.

13.

Rotate the steering wheel in the direction of the smaller angle and stop mid-way between the marks.

14.

Install bolt for steering column collar and torque to 14 - 19 ft-lbs.

NOTE: 

Do not move the position of the front wheels or steering wheel.

15.

Remove the negative battery cable and remove the air bag according to the instructions in the Workshop manual.

NOTE: 

Record all preset audio stations prior to disconnecting the negative battery cable.

16.

Remove the steering wheel and align the original straight ahead position tape marks (step 5).

17.

Install air bag and steering wheel.

18.

Install battery cable, reset audio stations and clock.

19.

Check for instrumentation warning lights and road test vehicle.

20.

Confirm repair.
