Apply a piece of masking tape to each side of the console next to hinges (see FIGURE 2).

Caution

^

Do not skip this step. The console can be damaged when removing the lower arm rest insert screws.

Remove the eight (8) arm rest insert screws.

5.

Insert a small pry tool (approximately 6 inches from the top of the arm rest insert) between the arm rest lid and the insert.

Pry slightly and repeat on the opposite side.

7.

Grasp and slide the insert downward to remove.

Caution

Failure to follow this procedure will result in damage to the lid latch.

8.

Remove the two (2) screws from the lid hinge and remove the lid.

9.

Remove the two (2) screws from the cup holder and install the cup holder onto the modified arm rest lid.

10.

Install the modified arm rest in the reverse order.

11.

Remove masking tape and adhesive residue.

It is no longer necessary to replace the complete assembly for the center arm rest console if only the console lid needs to be replaced.
