Brake Proportioning/Combination Valve: Testing and Inspection
1. Remove the battery.
2. Connect the Special Service Tool (SST) or equivalent to the brake pipes by using the adapters as shown in the figure.

Adapter and flare nut tightening torque to 13-21 Nm (9.4-15 ft. lbs.)
3. Bleed the air from the brake system. See: Brake Bleeding/Service and Repair
4. Depress the brake pedal until the master cylinder pressure equals A, then record rear brake pressure A.
5. Depress the brake pedal again, and apply additional pressure until the pressure equals B. Then record pressure B.
Fluid pressure should be:

2,900 kPa (430 psi) at A.

2,900 +/- 200 kPa (430 +/- 30 psi) at A.

5,900 kPa (850 psi) at B.

3,800 +/- 290 kPa (560 +/- 40 psi) at B.
6. If not within the specification, replace the dual proportioning valve.
