CREAK/SQUEAK NOISE FROM REAR SUSPENSION

DESCRIPTION
When driving at slow speeds, entering driveways, driving over speed bumps in parking lots, or driving on rough roads, a creak or squeak noise may be
heard from the rear suspension. This noise may be caused from lack of lubrication at the ball joint area of the upper trailing link(s). The noise may also
be heard by pushing down on the rear of the vehicle when stopped. An improved part with an increased diameter ball joint and improved lubricant is
available to resolve this concern.
Customers having this concern should have their vehicle repaired using the following procedure.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
1.
Verify customer concern.
2.
Remove both rear upper trailing links and determine if noise is still present. Refer to Workshop Manual (02-14).

If noise is still present, re-attach upper trailing links and inspect other rear suspension components for source of the noise.

If noise is not present, replace both upper trailing links with the modified part.
