Millenia L V6-2.5L DOHC (1997)
1. Check the one-way clutch 2 operation.
2. Install the inner race to one-way clutch 2, and verify that one-way clutch 2 turns smoothly and only clockwise. If one-way clutch 2 turns or
locks in both directions, replace one-way clutch 2. If one-way clutch 2 turns only counterclockwise, it might have been installed
backwards.
3. Replace the one-way clutch 2 if it is damaged or malfunctioning.
Carrier Hub Assembly (4)
Check for the following and repair or replace as necessary.
1. Damaged and worn gears, and incorrect operation.
2. Clearance between pinion washers and planetary carrier.
3. If not within 0.2 - 0.7 mm (0.008 - 0.028 inch), replace the carrier hub assembly.
Assembly Procedure
1. Install the carrier hub assembly to the inner race.
2. Install the snap ring.
3. Apply petroleum jelly to the bearing races.
4. Install the tabs of the bearing races into the alignment holes on each side of the one-way clutch / carrier hub assembly. Bearing race outer
diameter for the sun gear drum side is 72.0 mm (2.83 inch) and for the 3-4 clutch side is 56.1 mm (2.21 inch).
