Oil Pan: Service and Repair

OIL PAN REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Drain the engine oil.
3. Remove in the order indicated in the table.
4. Install in the reverse order of removal.
5. Start the engine and inspect for oil leakage.
6. Inspect the oil level and add oil if necessary.

Oil Pan Removal Note

1. Remove the oil pan mounting bolts.

Caution:  Pry tools can easily scratch the lower cylinder block and oil pan contact surfaces. Prying off the oil pan can also easily bend the oil pan
flange. See the following instructions before removing the oil pan.
