Throttle Position Sensor: Adjustments

CAUTION:

-

The TP sensor is adjusted at the factory before shipment. Unnecessary adjustment will negatively affect the engine performance.

Adjusting the TP sensor using the throttle adjusting screw (TAS) will negatively affect the engine performance.

Closed Throttle Position (CTP) Switch

1. Verify that the throttle valve is at CTP
2. Disconnect the TP sensor connector.
3. Loosen the attaching screws.

Specification

4. Insert a feeler gauge between the throttle adjusting screw (TAS) and the throttle lever. By adjusting the throttle adjusting screw (TAS), verify the

continuity between the CTP switch terminals C and D are as follows using an ohmmeter.

5. Connect the TP sensor connector.
6. Tighten the attaching screws.

If not adjusted, replace the TP sensor.

Tightening torque: 1.6 - 2.3 N.m {16 - 24 kg.cm, 14 - 20 in.lb}
