2. In order to keep the lower arm stable, position the SSTs as shown.
3. Press the new bushing in using the SSTs.

LOWER ARM BUSHING (REAR) INSTALLATION NOTE 

1. Install the lower arm bushing so that the direction indicator is facing down.

FRONT LOWER ARM INSPECTION 

1. Inspect the link for damage and boot cracks.

Replace it as necessary.

2. Inspect the ball joint for looseness.

Replace the link as necessary.

3. Rotate the ball joint stud at least five times.

4. Connect the SST to the stud, and measure the rotation torque using a pull scale.

Replace if it is not within the specification.

Rotation torque

0.3 - 3.4 Nm (3 - 35 kgf-cm, 2.7 - 30 inch lbs.) 

Pull scale reading

3.0 - 34 N (0.3 - 3.5 kgf, 0.7 - 7.7 lbs.)
