Fuel Pump Relay: Testing and Inspection

SWITCHING OPERATION

Circuit Opening Relay

1.  

Apply 12 volts and a ground to the terminals below and check the circuit opening relay operation as described.

    12 VOLTS    GROUNDED    CORRECT RESULT

    
      STA           E1        B-Fp: Continuity
       B           Fc        Fp: Battery voltage
 
2.  

If not as specified, check the related wiring harness.

RELAY CIRCUIT

Testing Relay Circuit Voltage

1.  

Check voltage between the terminals and a ground with a voltmeter.

2. 

If not as specified, check the related wiring harness.

1.  

Check resistance between the terminals using an ohmmeter.
