Fig. 1  Shock & Spring Assembly Removal

REMOVAL 

1.

Raise and support vehicle.

2.

Remove wheel, then remove brake hose clip, Fig. 1. 

3.

Remove lower attaching nut, and bolt.

4.

Remove top retaining nuts, then the shock absorber and spring.

DISASSEMBLY 

1.

Loosen the piston rod upper nut several turns, but do not remove.

2.

Using a suitable spring compressor, compress coil spring and remove the upper nut, Fig. 2. 

3.

Remove upper mounting block, then the spring upper seat.

4.

Remove spring seat and coil spring.

5.

Remove bump stopper and ring rubber.
