Sliding Door Electrical Contact: Service and Repair

SLIDING DOOR CIRCUIT CONTACT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

WARNING:  Handling the side air bag sensor improperly can accidentally deploy the side air bag module, which may seriously injure you.
Read AIR BAG SYSTEM SERVICE WARNINGS before working around the B-pillar areas. (See AIR BAG SYSTEM SERVICE
WARNINGS.)

NOTE:  The side air bag sensor is located in the B-pillar.

Door Side

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the sliding door trim.
3. Disconnect the sliding door circuit contact connector.
4. Remove the bolts.
5. Remove the sliding door circuit contact.
6. Install in the reverse order of removal.

Body Side

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the B-pillar lower trim.
