Brake Master Cylinder: Service and Repair
Removal/Installation

1.

Disconnect brake fluid level sensor.

2.

Using line wrench 490259770 A/B, or equivalent, disconnect and cap brake fluid lines from master cylinder.

3.

Remove proportioning bypass valve attaching bolts and valve, if equipped.

4.

Remove bracket, if equipped, then the master cylinder assembly from the power brake booster.

5.

Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. The master cylinder nuts should be torqued to 8-12 ft.lbs.
b. Bleed brake system.
