Inspection:  See: Cylinder Head Assembly

12. Distributor drive gear, inspect for wear or damage.

Disassembly Note:

ASSEMBLY

Re-assemble in reverse order shown in the figure.

Distributor Drive Gear

1. Remove all old sealant from the drive gear.

2. Apply sealant to the shaded area as shown in the figure.
3. Seat the drive gear fully on the left camshaft.

Camshaft

1. Apply a liberal amount of engine oil to the journals, lobes, and bearings.
2. Set the camshaft into the cylinder head.
3. Install the thrust plate.

Tightening torque:  7.8-11 Nm (80-110 cm-kg, 69-95 in-lb)

Camshaft Oil Seal

1. Apply engine oil to the camshaft oil seal lip.

Press the oil seals into each cylinder head with a suitable pipe.
Oil seal outer diameter:  54.Omm (2.1 in)

Hydraulic Lash Adjuster (HLA)
