Voltage Signal: Description and Operation
Ignition Distributor
^ The "G1" signal is used to detect #1 cylinder TDC in the firing order and is utilized by the ECU to calculate fuel injection timing. The "G2" signal is
used to determine the exact position of the crankshaft at any time for ignition timing calculations.
^ Another signal that corresponds to the "G2" signal is the "Ne" signal, which is used to calculate engine speed.
^ This system utilizes two separate pick-up coils; one generates the "G1" signal and the other generates the "G2" and "Ne" signals.
