Subject:
ROUGH IDLE ON WARM RESTART VEHICLE
APPLICABLE MODELS/VINS
1992 - 94 MPV vehicles
DESCRIPTION
During the winter season, if a vehicle is operated at normal operating temperature, shut off for 30 - 40 minutes then restarted, a rough idle may occur.
This is caused by more volatile fuels (especially fuels with high alcohol content) supplied during the winter months. The problem is most evident in
temperatures of 40 - 60 degrees (F) (5 - 15 degrees C).
To prevent this problem the fuel regulator has been modified.
Customers complaining of this problem should have the vehicle inspected according to the instructions in this bulletin and if necessary, repaired.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
1.
Inspect the vehicle.
2.
If no other causes are found, inspect the pressure regulator.

If a one stage regulator is installed, install a two stage regulator, hose assembly, sensor (intake temperature sensor) and intermediate harness. Refer
to the installation instructions in this bulletin.
4.
If a two stage regulator is installed, install the sensor (intake air temperature sensor) and intermediate harness. Refer to the installation instructions
in this bulletin.
