Air Flow Meter/Sensor: Service and Repair

1.

Disconnect the negative battery terminal.

2.

Loosen the clamp and remove the air duct from the air flow meter.

3.

Disconnect the electrical connector from the air flow meter.

Remove the mounting nuts from inside the air filter housing and remove the air flow meter from the vehicle.

5.

Clean all mating surfaces of dirt, gasket material, etc.

6.

Install a new gasket, making sure that the pins "A" fit into the holes "B".  Install the air flow meter to the air filter housing, torquing the nuts to
8-11 Nm (0.8-1.1 m-0kg, 5.8-8.0 ft. lbs.)

CAUTION:  If the nuts are not tightened properly, the nuts may loosen and damage the engine.

7.

Reconnect the air duct and tighten the clamp.

8.

Reconnect the electrical connector and the negative battery terminal.
