Inspection

Checking compressor and exhaust valve

1. Jack up the rear of the vehicle and support it with safety stands.
2. Disconnect the air pipes from the shock absorbers. Connect the SST as shown in the figure.

3. Apply battery voltage (12V) between terminals (a) and (d) of the compressor connector to activate the compressor.
4. Close the valve on the pressure gauge, and check the output pressure.

Standard: 981-1,274 kPa (143-184 psi)

5. Stop the compressor.

6. While maintaining the compressor pressure, apply battery voltage (12V) between terminals (c) and (b) of the compressor connector.
7. Verify that the exhaust valve operation sound is heard and that the pressure gradually decreases. Check that the following pressure is finally

reached and held:

Standard: 20-78 kPa (2.9-11 psi)

8. Lower the jack slowly.
