WARRANTY INFORMATION
(Applies to vehicles covered under warranty.)

NOTE:

If a customer presents a receipt for previous tire replacement, contact your Mazda District Service Manager.

A)

CALCULATING THE PRORATE VALUE (%) (For each tire)

1.

Using a tread depth gauge, measure the tread depth of one of the 2 center grooves in the middle of the tire (figure 1).

NOTE:

Do not measure tire depth at the wear bar.

Repeat Step 1 at each of the 4 different tire locations shown.

3.

Calculate the average tread depth for the tire based on the 4 locations measured.

Using the chart, find the proper tread depth range and the corresponding prorate percentage for the average tread depth found in Step 3.

5.

Repeat Steps 1 through 4 for all 4 tires. Record each tire's prorate value separately on the repair order.

B)

CALCULATING THE TOTAL PRORATED WARRANTY REIMBURSEMENT VALUE

1.

Calculate the regular warranty reimbursement value for each tire by multiplying the dealer cost by 1.3;

Example:

Dealer Cost = $82.90
Regular Warranty Reimbursement = $82.90 x 1.3 = $107.77

2.

For each tire replaced, multiply the regular warranty reimbursement value by the prorate value (%).

Example: A tire with 6/32 tread remaining is equivalent to 50% prorate value. Prorated Warranty Reimbursement Value = $107.77 x 0.5 =
