SLIDING DOOR UPPER ROLLER COMES OUT
APPLICABLE MODEL(S)VINS
All 2000 - 2001 MPVs.
DESCRIPTION
Some vehicles may experience the upper roller coming out of the guide rail at the notch when the sliding door is opened or closed with the handle pulled
down. This condition may be caused because of the following reasons:

The upper roller bracket is not properly adjusted.

The lower roller bracket of sliding door is not strong enough and a bit bent. Production assembly procedures have changed to prevent this concern.
Customers having this concern should have their vehicle repaired using the following procedure.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
1.
Verify customer concern.
2.
Degrease upper rail area, directly below upper rail notch.
3.
Attach spacer as shown below.
4.
Measure clearance "A" (5 - 9 mm).

If clearance "A" is out of specification, proceed to STEP 5.

If clearance "A" is within the specification, proceed to STEP 10.
5.
Remove the sliding door trim and upper frame according to Workshop Manual (section 09-17 SLIDING DOOR TRIM
REMOVAL/INSTALLATION and SLIDING DOOR UPPER FRAME REMOVAL/INSTALLATION).
6.
Loosen two bolts of the upper roller bracket and adjust the position, then tighten them to the specified torque. Tighten Torque: 7.9 - 10.7 N-m (80
- 109 kgf.cm, 70 - 95 in.lbf)
